This event is under Elanco Animal Health’s three-part webinar series called “Let’s Talk Layers” aimed at helping producers take on important industry challenges and catch up with new trends going forward.

Mr. Andrew Joret – Chairman of the British Egg Industry Council (BEIC) – showed that there was a major restructuring in egg production methods, from enriched cages to free range. The main reason for this was the constant pressure from the activists, rather than consumers in addition to the EU’s new regulations. The implications of this trend, however, are not completely positive, reflected via its adverse effects on animal behaviors (feather pecking or cannibalism) and health (keel bone damage) if not managed properly by farms.
