Interpreting For Regional Linkage Mekong Connect
Mekong Connect originated as an initiative of four provinces, commonly known as ABCD: An Giang, Ben Tre, Can Tho, and Dong Thap. Having hit its stride, the program now represents the collaborative partnership between Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta provinces, fostering sustainable development throughout the region.
Mekong Connect 2024 brought several unique experiences to the table. Most notably, the event was hosted at An Giang University, where attendees were greeted with traditional folk music in the entrance hall. The program featured the introduction of the "Three-Region Green Agri-Business Club" and two dynamic panel discussions zeroing in on critical themes: investment capital and human resources for sustainable development.

The Mekong Connect 2024 Forum centered on the theme "Investment Capital and Human Resources for Sustainable Linkages between the Mekong Delta Region, Ho Chi Minh City, and the Nation." Ho Chi Minh City reaffirmed its commitment to walking shoulder to shoulder with the Mekong Delta provinces, implementing various regional and sectoral integration solutions, facilitating business connections, supply-demand matching, and promoting investment, trade, and local product development.
Our interpretation team arrived the day before to ensure everything was running like clockwork for the morning session. Working in provincial locations requires meticulous planning regarding scheduling, travel arrangements, personnel coordination, and equipment setup, maintaining the same high standards as events in Ho Chi Minh City.

Australia affirms its commitment to long-term cooperation for the sustainable development of Vietnam in general and the Mekong Delta in particular. The Australian Government recognizes the Mekong Delta as a key geographic area in the bilateral relationship, reflected in an investment of more than 650 million Australian dollars since 2000. This investment focuses on expanding infrastructure, improving productivity and competitiveness, developing human resources, and promoting innovation in the region. In collaboration with ECUE and the Business Support Services and Research Centre (BSA), Australia promotes gender equality in the workplace and supports Vietnamese businesses to achieve success through improved policies and practices.
The panel discussion "Investment Capital for Sustainable Linkages" tackled the challenge of mobilizing effective long-term investment for the Mekong Delta region. Experts broke the ice with an analysis of investment attraction challenges, particularly in the context of climate change and global market fluctuations. Mr. Nguyen Tuan Quynh from Go Global Holdings moderated the discussion, joined by experts including Ms. Pham Chi Lan (Senior Economist), Ms. Huynh Thanh Binh Minh (Fund Director, Talent Partners), Mr. Anderson Tan (Director, Accelerator Singapore), and Mr. Tran Cong Vinh (Deputy General Director, Phuc Sinh JSC). The speakers exchanged views on investment attraction solutions, sustainable value chain development, and creating momentum for a dynamic economy.

The subsequent panel discussion, "Human Resources for Sustainable Linkages," addressed high-quality human resource development for the Mekong Delta region. Mr. Tran Vu Nguyen from AI Education moderated the discussion, with participation from experts including Ms. Nguyen Thi My Duyen (Head of Biotechnology Department, An Giang University), Ms. Hoang Thi Tam Uyen (HR Director, Thien Long Group), Mr. Le Quang Binh (Director, ECUE), Ms. Tieu Yen Trinh (General Director, TalentNet), and Mr. Pham Sy Thanh (Director, Center for Economic and Strategic Studies - CESS). The speakers left no stone unturned in discussing training strategies, skill development, technology transfer, and solutions for enhancing human resource quality to meet the region's socio-economic development needs in a rapidly evolving global economy.
