The Eurocham-Ctbuh Vietnam Tall Building Forum 2024 Focused On Sustainable Urban Development.
In his opening speech, Mr. Dominik Meichle, Chairman of EuroCham Vietnam, emphasized the importance of building green and sustainable tall buildings in the context of rapid urbanization. Mr. Michel Cassagnes, Chairman of the Construction Committee. shared insights on the Construction Sector Committee's activities, including the publication of a Whitebook chapter on firefighting regulations.
A highlight of the forum was the discussion on the Merdeka 118 Tower project, featuring Mr. CJ Chen from Turner and experts like Mr. Pham Anh Tuan from SCLVN and Ms. Phan Thu Hang from the Vietnam Green Building Council. The speakers shared experiences and challenges in constructing Southeast Asia's tallest tower.
The next session focused on the impact of tall buildings in urban contexts, with The Global City as a case study. Mr. Trieu Nguyen from Masterise Homes and Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung from the HCMC Department of Planning and Architecture discussed challenges and solutions in developing this large-scale urban project.
"Green building" refers to structures that are energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. "Sustainable development" emphasizes balancing economic growth with environmental protection. "Smart urban planning" involves using technology and data to optimize urban management and development.
