Simultaneous translation at Mekong Delta Business Forum 2022

Mekong Delta Business Forum was organized by the Dutch diplomatic mission in Vietnam in partnership with VCCI Can Tho and the Dutch Business Association in Can Tho city. The event was attended by the Netherlands Ambassador, Chairman of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce, MD provincial leaders and representatives from UNDP. 

The Mekong Delta is now confronting many major challenges in terms of environment (land subsidence due to overexploitation of underground water and saline intrusion), economy (labor shortage caused by mass migration, unmet infrastructure needs, and limited funding), and technology (lagging digital transformation). This requires a nature-based, cross-sectoral and integrated approach.

The platform, hence, is an opportunity for the Netherlands to present the Vietnam – Netherlands updated agenda in the Mekong Delta and showcase the Netherland’s relevant solutions to address the challenges in the delta, with a series of pitches on agriculture, water and logistics technology as well as developing the agriculture hub for the delta.
