What’s it like to be an interpreter for a global football legend?
Phien Dich Vien by AKT was honored to partner with FC Online at Gullit Meet & Greet—a must-attend occasion for any football lover, especially esports die-hard fan, in Vietnam.
Ruud Gullit's legendary status is cemented not only by his Ballon d'Or win in 1987 but also by his profound impact on football, extending far beyond his exceptional on-field performances. As captain, he led the Netherlands national team to a historic victory in the 1988 European Championship. Beyond his skill, Gullit became a cultural icon, transcending the sport.
At first glance, the interpreter might seem to have the best job, being that close to a football icon. However, the reality is far from easy. The role required continuous coordination with the organizer to assist a VIP group of 10–20 guests during the luncheon. More importantly, it demanded both consecutive and simultaneous interpreting in the fan meeting afterward to ensure frictionless communication.
This event reaffirmed that AKT is not only a team of highly skilled and experienced professionals but also a knowledgeable partner capable of adapting to diverse client needs across various industries.
