Interpreting at “Italian Design Day”

“Italian Design Day” was held at the Reverie Saigon under the theme “Designing the future. Development, innovation, sustainability, beauty”, with the attendance of Consul General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City, Architect Marco Casamonti, and representatives from various news agencies. Launched by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Fondazione Compasso d’Oro and the Triennale di Milano since 2017, “Italian Design Day” includes a series of exhibitions, talks, and other events with the aim to not only share timeless design values fostering urban landscape sustainability but introduce typical products of the Italian design industry as well.
The event showcased works of renowned designers, such as Vico Magistretti, and promoted talks between Italian and Vietnamese design experts and academics to exchange inspirations and ideas on the topic of sustainable development in designing the future, especially in a post-Covid world.
As H.E Antonio Alessandro, Ambassador of Italy in Vietnam, stated, the event was the “opportunity to reimagine our world by bringing the great minds together like Ambassador of Italian Design, Marco Casamonti, from Studio Archea in Florence, and Vietnamese experts to pave the way for the future of design industry placed in the hands of Italian and Vietnamese students”.
As a unique event where different aspects of life such as art, design, architecture, and urban development converge, Italian Design Day requires interpreters with certain interdisciplinary knowledge to convey both the meaning and implied messages behind every piece of work.
