The 28th annual Vietfood & Beverage -- Propack Vietnam 2024 International Exhibition officially opened its doors on August 8, 2024, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC). This premier event in Vietnam's food and beverage industry has brought together 1000 businesses from over 20 countries, featuring 1,200 booths and expecting to attract more than 25,000 visitors over its three-day run.

Mr. Pham Dang Khanh, Deputy General Director of VINEXAD, delivered the opening speech, emphasizing the exhibition's role as a stepping stone for businesses to expand their brand presence and adapt to market trends. The Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade was present to show support for the industry's development. Mr. Piotr Harasimowicz, Chief Representative of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency in Ho Chi Minh City, and Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi, Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, were in attendance, showcasing the international community's interest in the Vietnamese market.The event also saw participation from representatives of Taiwan, Malaysia, and Singapore, opening up opportunities for international cooperation. Ms. Karen Yu, Director of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) in Ho Chi Minh City, spoke about the potential for collaboration between Taiwan and Vietnam in the food and beverage sector.

The exhibition's specialized seminars focused on the latest industry trends. Of particular interest were the workshops on "Towards Net-Zero: Strategies and Solutions for Carbon Reduction in the Food Industry" and "Green Packaging - An Inevitable Trend in Food Packaging," reflecting the industry's commitment to sustainable development.Ms. Ly Kim Chi, Chair of the Food and Foodstuff Association of Ho Chi Minh City (FFA), and Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Beer-Alcohol-Beverage Association, shared valuable insights on upcoming industry trends and challenges.
