Interpreting at Virtual Webinar “Doing Business with Vietnam”
This is an article on Trade, Engineering, and Machinery
The Virtual Webinar "Doing Business with Vietnam" was hosted by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ho Chi Minh City Branch (VCCI-HCM), with support from the Embassy of India in Vietnam and the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City. During the COVID-19 pandemic, this event promoted activities between Indian and Vietnamese businesses in a variety of engineering fields, including automobile components, electrical equipment, electronics, and others.

In most cases, providing translation services at a hybrid conference like this is a challenge for interpreters, who must navigate platform-based difficulties such as switching back and forth between input and output channels to ensure audio quality for the audience, let alone have in-depth knowledge of the speech's content. AKT is proud to have a team of knowledgeable interpreters (former students) with technical qualifications for such events, thanks to a well-established curriculum and real-life simulation practices.
H.E. Mr. Pranay Verma, India's Ambassador to Vietnam, opened the seminar by highlighting the long-standing India-Vietnam relationship, which has roots in history and civilization and has recently been strengthened in all areas under the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership. Vietnam has consistently ranked among the top three ASEAN destinations for Indian engineering exports in recent years, with Indian exports to Vietnam totaling US$ 4.6 billion and imports from Vietnam totaling US$ 6.6 billion in 2019. In 2020, the first seven months of bilateral trade between Vietnam and India totaled $5 billion, accounting for one-third of both countries' goals.
The global supply chains, including India's, are shifting to Vietnam, a highly reliable investment destination. With a total registered capital of over USD 887 million across 272 projects focusing on oil and gas, mineral processing, IT, and agricultural products, India ranked 26th out of 136 countries and territories investing in Vietnam as of April 2020. To take advantage of EVFTA preferences, Indian companies are looking for more investment opportunities in Vietnam, particularly in major industries such as textiles, leather, footwear, and raw materials for husbandry feed, among others.

The B2B session took place after the overview of trade and investment between Vietnam and India, with many engaging exchanges between Indian enterprises and Vietnamese counterparts on common business interests, complementary services, expertise, technologies, or business strengths.
Once again, AKT's translation service contributes to the success of the event and, more importantly, the growth of bilateral trade between India and Vietnam. Thank you for always putting your trust in and choosing the AKT VI EN interpreters and translators for your events.
