AKT interpreters at EU –VCCI trade forum
Introduction to VCCI - Eurocham Conference
The VCCI conference in Ho Chi Minh City on 24/4/2025 provided a comprehensive overview of the global economic landscape, challenges, and opportunities for Vietnam. The event took place against the backdrop of a global economy experiencing a "VUCA" phase – characterized by volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity, demanding strategic moves from Vietnam to both overcome challenges and seize opportunities.
Role of AKT Interpreters in International Forums
To ensure smooth information exchange between international and Vietnamese delegates, particularly during the discussion session with Eurocham representatives, professional cabin interpreters from AKT Translation Company were entrusted with the critical task. This allowed speakers and participants to use their native languages while messages were seamlessly conveyed through simultaneous interpretation. The use of modern interpretation equipment, including headphones and signal transmission systems, was an essential factor contributing to the success of such a large-scale international event, ensuring all critical information was fully and accurately received. (The term "cabin" in "cabin interpretation" is a borrowed word from French or English, referring to a compact soundproof booth designated for interpreters' work).

Overview of EU Market and EVFTA Impact
EU Trade Policy and Trade Remedies Measures (TDM)
Following this, representatives from the Trade Remedies TRAV shared in-depth information about EU trade policies and Trade Remedies measures affecting Vietnamese businesses. The primary measures, including anti-dumping, anti-subsidy, and safeguard mechanisms, were explained clearly, along with their specific application conditions.
Investment and Trade Trends in Vietnam
The discussion session by representatives from the Institute of Policy and Strategy Research focused on investment and trade trends between Vietnam and major partners, along with critical insights for businesses. In 2024, Vietnam remained an attractive investment destination despite slowing international FDI, attracting $38.23 billion, with increasing project quantity and quality, particularly in pioneering industries like semiconductors and renewable energy. Major corporations such as Nvidia, Qualcomm, and Intel have committed investments, promising support for Vietnam's semiconductor and AI sector development. Forecasts for 2025 suggest Vietnam will continue to strongly attract FDI, with potential disbursements reaching a record over $30 billion.
Business Support, Integration Challenges, and Technology Solutions
Representatives from Ho Chi Minh City's Department of Science and Technology presented policies supporting innovative startup enterprises and business operations in the EU market. The Ho Chi Minh City Business Association representatives shared insights into the needs and challenges of Mekong Delta enterprises when integrating into the European market, emphasizing the critical necessity of elevating product standards to meet EU's stringent regulations on food safety, environmental compliance, and product traceability. CMC Technology & Solution representatives introduced technological solutions for production and export, particularly Blockchain technology for product origin tracing. This serves as an effective tool helping businesses build trust with international partners and consumers while meeting increasingly strict legal requirements from demanding markets like the EU, such as the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
