The webinar "Get PEFC Certified - Learn from First Movers" is part of the PEFC's Supporting Sustainable Rubber (SSR) campaign, which aims to share lessons learned and accomplishments from rubber businesses and smallholders that have achieved PEFC certification for sustainable rubber forest management and chain of custody (CoC), as well as to promote market access. The event featured speakers from both domestic and international organizations.

With a team of qualified and experienced rubber industry interpreters, the members of Phien Dich Vien by AKT delivered our best simultaneous translation, contributing to the event's success.

The webinar's speakers discussed the various types of certification available to rubber smallholders and businesses, including certification for sustainable forest management (SFM) and CoC certification for the rubber value chain. Additionally, the speakers addressed frequently asked technical questions about the certification process and discussed the benefits of PEFC certification, which include risk reduction, system improvement, market expansion, and increased livelihoods and productivity of smallholders.

The Vietnam Forest Certification Scheme (VFCS), which is operated and managed by the Vietnam Administration of Forestry, assisted members of the Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG) in developing a plan to implement SFM and registering for Forest Certification. Implementing VFCS / PEFC certifications has benefited VRG in a variety of ways, including improving the internal management system, increasing investment efficiency, reducing negative environmental and social impacts, regaining buyer trust, and enabling VRG to meet new market needs.
