Interpreting "Waste management - situation and solutions" Seminar
According to a study by World Bank, the average daily rate of solid waste generation comes up to 0.74 kg/person/day. The total amount of urban solid waste generated worldwide was 2 billion tons in 2016, the largest of which was in the East Asia-Pacific region with 468 million tons (~ 23%) (https://thegioimoitruong.vn/tong-quan-ve-quan-ly-chat-thai-ran-tren-the-gioi-va-mot-so-giai-phap-cho-viet-nam.html)

We are witnessing rapid urban development in Vietnam. Urban areas have been a driving force for socio-economic development, promoting economic growth and labor restructuring. Environmental sanitation is facing challenges to the quality of life and sustainable development. Managing domestic and industrial solid waste is an issue worth paying attention to.
Therefore, Vietnam Urban Environment and Industrial Zone Association (VUREIA) organized an international seminar on the topic of "Solid waste management in urban and industrial zone" in Ho Chi Minh City.
The conference aimed to bring together domestic and international organizations, individuals and businesses, and to introduce new solutions in the field of collection, transportation and treatment for industrial solid waste.
It was one more successful event carried out by our team of experienced translators, in the field of environment and solid waste treatment.
Currently, the mechanisms, policies and legal documents on solid waste management have been relatively sufficient, with a focus on promoting and facilitating social resources. However, preferential policies, incentives and unit price norms are needed to adapt to the situation of the regions and localities.
Such topics directly related to our lives make us - senior interpreters – feel proud that our work contributed to the environment and the society.
The forum was good for businesses, investors, experts to share, exchange information, experience and learn about new technology equipment. The seminar also brought a lot of useful information and contributed to finding models and solutions for effective treatment of solid waste in Vietnam.
