Vietnam Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) Siting Options Workshop

2020/05/11

IFC (International Finance Corporation), a member of the World Bank Group, carried out the meeting in response to the request from the Ministry of Industry and Trade to help define siting options for floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) in southern Vietnam.

In this Conference, the service of high-level simultaneous interpreters was required, and AKT Translation Company was engaged in the job. Employers prefer high-level interpreters with extensive experience, who will guarantee the success of the event.

LNG, known as a viable and environmentally friendly fuel, involves extreme complexity in logistics. LNG is transported in a slushy state and must be heated to its initial gaseous state before being  pumped into the storage system. The entire process is costly and time-consuming.

Good preparation is the secret to success. AKT’s team had read countless documents in advance of the workshop and managed to add value and bring excellence to the client’s event.

FSRU is a floating LNG import terminal, similar to LGN carriers but capable of carrying out the heating and liquefaction process within itself. FSRU is easier to implement and cost less than an onshore facility.

However, efforts are required to establish a cost-effective FSRU solution in Vietnam. The study would assess the technical feasibility in terms of site conditions, navigation, mooring arrangement, connection to shore and costs a newly built FSRU terminal as well as the possibility to have LGN transferred to onshore.

In order to interpret these intensive topics effectively, interpreters must update their knowledge of transportation, logistics, mooring solutions, power plant operations, gas extraction, among others.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Vinh – Member of the Project Management Board commended for our work. He said, “I’m delighted that we have Mr. Khang Nguyen as our interpreter today. I’ve spread the words to partners, friends, and colleagues of mine about his excellent translation services and I intend to continue doing so. In all the international conferences I had attended, I always had had to listen to English contents in one ear and translated contents in another. Yet at this particular workshop where Khang is the head translator, I had a good time listening with comprehension and enjoy the comfort of wearing the headset with the smooth content.”
