When a translator received a thank you note from a respected business titan

2025/06/11

I light up every time I receive a thank-you note after completing a client project. Over the years, I've collected quite a few official letters of appreciation, complete with executive signatures that feel like professional badges of honor.
I met Steven, a global business titan whose empire stretched across continents, with a particularly robust footprint in Vietnam through industrial parks and nationwide distribution networks.

What truly set him apart was how he went the extra mile—literally walking through every facility across different countries to connect directly with employees, not just executives. The meeting was a masterclass in professional communication, supported by interpreter Khang Nguyen and AKT's top-notch translation equipment.

He asked me to arrive 30 minutes early and was already there—punctuality personified. His presentation was a work of art: meticulously prepared slides and a conversational style that made complex KPIs feel like an intimate chat over coffee.
After the event, he sent a heartfelt thank-you note that struck a deep chord. These are the moments I often share with my colleagues—meaningful interactions that speak volumes without any grandstanding.

These moments keep our spirits high, reminding us that our work matters—whether we're burning the midnight oil wading through hundreds of pages, laser-focused on a speaker's every word, or wrestling with spotty connections that make conference calls sound like they're beaming in from across the globe (which, let's be real, they often are!).

Dear Khang,
Thank you so much for your very thoughtful note; it really made my day. Sorry it’s taken me a few days to get back to you but I’ve just returned from a relatively long trip to …….
I remember very well the expert support that you gave me on my trips to Vietnam and, in an important way, you contributed to the success of the communication meetings there. Indeed, I have many fond memories of my trips to your part of the world and although I will not be traveling there with ……… professionally in the future, I certainly plan on coming back as it truly occupies a space as one of my favorite countries in the world.

When I do so, I’ll certainly give you a call ahead of time and perhaps we could catch up with a cup of coffee.
In the meanwhile, thank you so much for your generous note and your warm sentiment.
All the best,
Steven
