Interpreting at Sustainable Finance Forum 2019

2020/05/12

In May 2019, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), World Financial Organization (IFC), and Vietnam Banks Association (VBNA) jointly organized the Sustainable Finance Forum to explore how public and private sector could join hands to accelerate green growth. The forum focused on the role of regulators in supporting the implementation of green growth strategies in Vietnam as well as the approach to growing public investments and encouraging private investments in green growth.

In interpretation, an interpreter serves as a bridge between the speakers and the listeners. This depends on the competence and proficiency of interpreters.

Among regulators and heads of intergovernmental organizations attended the forum, there were Ms. Beatrice Maser Mallor – Ambassadors of Switzerland to Vietnam, Dr. Nguyen Toan Thang – Secretary General of Vietnam Banks Association, Mr. Roberto de Ocampo, former Finance Minister of the Philippines. The forum also welcomed plenty of CEOs from leading companies in Vietnam.

Accuracy is a must in government-level events, conferences, diplomatic events, specific majors, etc. Work ethics and responsibility are a must for those who train to become interpreters, which are upheld by AKT’s excellent VI – EN interpreters.

The Green Growth Strategy seeks to reduce carbon emissions as well as to expand the use of clean and renewable energy. Achieving sustainable production and consumption by updating production planning, using natural resources wisely and greening industries is also a priority of the strategy.

As one of the fastest-growing economies in the Asia-Pacific region, Vietnam is making an effort to expand its presence in the global market and is committed to implementing 17 global SDGs. On the path to make sustainable development a reality in Vietnam, private sector must join up with civil society and public sector.

Vietnam is clearly increasing its engagement in financing climate and green projects. However, as climate change is accelerating, it is not easy to meet the demand for more capital in this area. In order to raise capital used for green growth, Vietnam is urged to make more effective use of the budget allocated to green growth strategy as well as attract more private investments – which is currently quite modest.

Thank you for always selecting the VI-EN interpreters from AKT - A Key Team for 5,000+ international events since 2000. AKT stays abreast of trends in the translation industry, giving customer satisfaction and success.
