Interpreting Supply Chain Finance
In partnership with the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), IFC (International Finance Corporation), together with the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) and SBV organized the Fourth Conference on Supply Chain Finance in Asia Pacific. ' The conference was launched as part of the 2015 APEC Finance Ministers Process in the Philippines' Cebu Action Plan.
The conference focused on developing a Supply Chain Finance (SCF) market for emerging economies with four main sessions:
- Trade and Supply Chain Finance Market Development in Vietnam and the Region
- Panel Discussion – Opportunities and Challenges of Scaling Up the Supply Chain Finance Market in Vietnam
- Agri Supply Chain Finance
- Support Services for Supply Chain Finance
The event was attended by 200 members from ministries and other government departments, financial institutions and lead companies, manufacturers and distributors.
Supply chain finance has gained popularity in recent years and has become a key solution for leading companies to optimize their cash flow and minimize liquidity costs while remaining competitive. Seeking solutions to promote supply chance finance in Vietnam is a matter of urgency due to a range of challenges facing SMEs. These include, for example, a lack of transparency in financial statements, limited capacity of local suppliers, and the lack of a comprehensive customer database and supply chain finance e-commerce platforms.
