Experienced Interpreters at Sustainable Finance Forum 2019
The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the World Financial Organization (IFC) and the Vietnam Banks Association (VBNA) jointly organized the Sustainable Finance Forum in May 2019 to discuss how the public and private sectors would join forces to accelerate green growth.
The forum was attended by Ms. Beatrice Maser Mallor – Swiss Ambassador to Vietnam, Dr. Nguyen Toan Thang – Secretary-General of Vietnam Banks Association, Mr. Roberto de Ocampo, former Philippine Finance Minister. The forum also invited several CEOs from leading Vietnam companies.
The policy also prioritizes sustainable development and consumption by updating production planning, using natural resources wisely, and greening industries.
Vietnam increases its contribution to climate finance and green ventures. However, as climate change is accelerating, more money in this region is not easy to reach. In order to increase capital used for green growth, Vietnam is urged to use the budget allocated to green growth strategy more efficiently, as well as draw more private investment – which is currently very modest.
