EN - VI Interpreters by AKT at workshop on agriculture Supply chain
On 18 November 2019, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development held the Workshop “Proposal for a master plan on developing modern agricultural product supply centers in Vietnam 2018 – 2020, towards 2030” finalizing the proposal before submitting it to the Prime Minister.
Because of the big difference between two languages, which are original language and target language, direct translation and interpretation can be difficult sometimes. In such cases, translators and interpreters must translate meaning instead of complying with structures of sentences in an original. In this workshop, things happened just like that where plenty of concepts would make sense in Vietnamese and require a considerable amount of understanding to express in English.
Vietnam currently has 6,000+ active rural markets and a growing number of hubs, however, the market has yet to become a fair and sustainable supply of raw materials in the supply chain. It raises concerns about the need for modern centers specializing in the supply of agricultural products, strengthening the link between production, distribution, and consumption.
It is advisable that the translators and interpreters need to use other respective structures in a target language for interpretation.
The 5-year project aims to ensure that an adequate mechanism is in place between 2020 and 2025 to support enterprises to participate in Vietnam’s agricultural supply chain under public-private partnership (PPP). Additionally, the project includes the development of centers for Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and CanTho; 2 – 3 centers for the collection of agricultural and fishery products in Kien Giang, and Ba Ria – Vung Tau; 2 centers for the supply of agricultural products at the border gates of Quang Ninh, Lao Cai, and Lang Son; and approximately 20 commune-level markets where safe food can find its way to the system of modern centers.
Only professional interpreters can be fluent and comfortable in providing interpretation for a workshop that incorporates plenty of different areas of knowledge and involves numerous social aspects. AKT’s simultaneous interpreter team, once again, received compliments from our high-profile clients.
